An additional benefit of becoming a formally Recognized Community through the Alliance for Community Enrichment (A.C.E.) program is the opportunity to apply for matching grant funds from the City of Gastonia. These funds can be used for projects that help improve and strengthen neighborhoods.
The A.C.E. Matching Grant Program allows eligible Recognized Communities that have been recognized for at least six (6) months to apply for funding for projects related to neighborhood improvements, neighborhood identity, public safety, environmental efforts, and community-building events.The goal of the grant program is to support neighborhoods in making positive changes through resident involvement. The grant encourages communities to build partnerships, cultivate volunteers, and work together on projects that improve the neighborhood or address community needs.
