Since 1985, October has been recognized as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the United States.
The Gastonia Fire Department, in partnership with Cancer Services of Gaston County are celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a commemorative T-Shirt displaying our departments name and likeness.
All throughout the month of October personnel from the Gastonia Fire Department will wear the shirt while serving the public, to let those who have fought, currently fighting, or lost loved one's to this disease know that we support you!
A limited supply of the shirts are available to the general public. Cost of the shirts are $10 for small - XL, and $12 for 2XL - 3XL with ALL proceeds going to Cancer Services of Gaston County.
To purchase a shirt, citizens can stop by the following locations Monday - Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm while supplies last:
The Gastonia Fire Department Station 1 located at: 260 N. Myrtle School Road in Gastonia.
The Gastonia Fire Department Station 4 located at: 900 Armstrong Park Road in Gastonia.
Cancer Services located at: 306 S. Columbia Street in Gastonia.
Akers Pharmacy located at: 1595 E. Garrison Boulevard in Gastonia.
