Due to inclement weather and dangerous road conditions, all City offices and facilities will be closed to the public on Monday.
The following facilities and services will not be operating:
- City offices and facilities — Closed
- The Schiele Museum of Natural History — Closed
- Bradley Station – Closed
- GOGastonia Microtransit, Transit/ADA — Not operating
- Solid Waste Services — No garbage collection Monday
The Warming Center, which is being operated by HealthNet Gaston and hosted at Unity Baptist Church, 482 N. Myrtle School Road, in Gastonia, is open and will remain open through 7 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27.
The Center is in need of volunteers, and those interested in supporting the Center may:
- Donate items through the Amazon Wish List or drop off donations at HealthNet Gaston (613 E. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054); for more information, visit HNG’s website.
Gaston County is operating an emergency shelter for the community at the Citizens Resource Center, 1303 W. Dallas-Cherryville Highway, and it will remain open until at least noon on Monday, January 26. Visit www.gastongov.com for more information about the emergency shelter operations.
City officials are urging residents to stay home, avoid travel, and remain off the roads unless absolutely necessary, as conditions remain unsafe.
Residents are encouraged to follow the City’s official website, www.gastonianc.gov, and social media channels for updates on services and schedule changes as weather and road conditions improve.
