City of Gastonia Operations and Services to Resume Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

City of Gastonia offices will open on Tuesday, January 27, at 10:00 a.m.

GoGastonia and Gastonia Transit’s ADA/Paratransit services will begin operating at 10:00 a.m. Riders should plan for possible delays, as conditions along neighborhood streets may continue to impact service.

Solid Waste services will resume on Tuesday, with crews collecting both Monday and Tuesday routes. Normal collection schedules will resume beginning Wednesday.

The following parks will remain closed:

  • Martha Rivers Park
  • Rankin Lake Park
  • Walker E. Reid, III Park

Community Centers will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Parks and Recreation Administration and Athletics offices will open at 10:00 a.m. There will be no programmed events on Tuesday. Parks and Recreation will follow Gaston County Schools’ Gastonia campuses for game schedules.

Residents are encouraged to continue using caution while traveling, as some road conditions may remain hazardous. As temperatures drop well below freezing, roads are expected to refreeze, creating the potential for black ice.

The warming center will be open 24 hours today (Monday) and will stay open until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday). Afterwards, the center will begin conducting regular night-time operations, opening when temps are 32 and below.

Additional updates will be shared through the City’s website, www.gastonianc.gov, and social media channels.
