Due to inclement weather and dangerous road conditions, City offices and most facilities will be closed to the public on Monday, February 2.
The following facilities and services will not be operating:
- City offices — Closed
- Bradley Station – Closed
- GOGastonia Microtransit, ADA/Paratransit — Not operating
- Solid Waste Services — No garbage collection Monday
- Parks and community centers – Closed
The Schiele Museum of Natural History will open to the public at noon.
The Warming Center, which is being operated by HealthNet Gaston and hosted at Unity Baptist Church, 482 N. Myrtle School Road, in Gastonia, is open and will remain open through 10 a.m. on Monday, February 2. Afterwards, the center will have regular night-time operations through Friday, February 6, as temps will be below 32 degrees.
The Center needs volunteers and donations, and those interested in supporting the Center may:
- Donate items through the Amazon Wish Listor drop off donations at HealthNet Gaston (613 E. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054); for more information, visit HNG’s website.
City officials are urging residents to stay home, avoid travel, and remain off the roads unless absolutely necessary, as conditions remain unsafe.
Residents are encouraged to follow the City’s official website, www.gastonianc.gov, and social media channels for updates on services and schedule changes as weather and road conditions improve.
