In-Kind Services include, but are not limited to, contributions of staff, equipment or other services that are considered for special events, community projects or programs. The granting of city in-kind support is evaluated according to the effectiveness and impact that the particular special event, community project, or program has on the community-at-large. Special attention is paid to events that promote the attractiveness of the City of Gastonia as a place to visit and/or live, celebrate the heritage of the City and its surroundings, and/or enrich the character and quality of life of its citizens.
Please fill out the event application. As a part of the application, all organizations requesting in-kind services must upload a Certificate of Insurance, proof of 501(c)(3), Articles of Incorporation, budget, and board member roster. The application needs to be received at least 90 days in advance of the event date in order to be considered for in-kind services. After the event application is received, each department head will need to approve the event. Pending approval, the applicant will come to an In-Kind Services meeting to answer any questions that the departments may have regarding the event. Then, the applicant will need to attend the Center City Revitalization and Housing Association meeting, as well as the City Council meeting. After approval from each of these steps, then the event is officially confirmed.
After the event date has passed, please fill out the post-event narrative report within 90 days after the event.
