Assistant Police Chief Nancy Brogdon Celebrating

Read Across America Week at Gastonia’s Woodhill Elementary

For Immediate Release – March 8, 2024

Gastonia, NC. – The Gastonia Police Department is recognizing International Women’s Day and Read Across America with Assistant Police Chief Nancy Brogdon reading to the First Graders in Miss McGriff’s and Mrs. Burton’s classes at Woodhill Elementary School.  Assistant Chief Brogdon read “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” and then took lots of questions from the inquisitive children.  Lots of kids said they wanted to be a Police Officer when they grow up!

The children were excellent listeners and fantastic hosts, a testament to the great job being done by their teachers and Principal Mr. Barton. Assistant Chief Brogdon was very impressed!
