Christmas in the City is on Sunday, December 3 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM in downtown Gastonia and the Rotary Centennial Pavilion
The event kicks off with the City of Gastonia marketplace at 3:00 PM at the Rotary Pavilion. The Gaston County Jaycees Christmas Parade begins at 5:00 PM at Main Ave./Chester and ends at Main Ave./Broad. The Keep Gastonia Beautiful Tree Lighting will begin at the Rotary Pavilion following the conclusion of the parade. Both the tree lighting and marketplace will conclude at 7:00 PM.
The marketplace and tree lighting event will feature Santa, free entertainment and inflatables, vendors, and more!

2023 Christmas Tree Decorating Contest Application - Due October 15, 2023
Christmas in the City is on Sunday, December 3 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Rotary Pavilion and downtown Gastonia. The event features the City of Gastonia marketplace, Keep Gastonia Beautiful tree lighting, and the Gaston County Jaycees Christmas parade.
The City of Gastonia Arts Committee is hosting a Christmas tree decorating contest. On Sunday, December 3, beginning at 12:00 pm, approved organizations may begin decorating their tree, set up near the pavilion. The application is open to businesses and non-profits in Gastonia (must have a Gastonia address.) More information is found in the application, linked below.
