Communications and Marketing

The Communications and Marketing Department tells the City of Gastonia’s story and keeps residents informed about their local government. We work with every City department to deliver the right message, to the right person, at the right time.

Our team handles media relations, social media, graphic design, the City website and video, advertising, and internal communications.

What We Do
Media Relations

We are the City’s point of contact for news media. We write and distribute news releases, coordinate interviews with City leaders and staff, and help reporters get accurate, timely information.

Social Media

We manage the City’s official social media accounts, sharing news, events, service updates, and emergency information with residents where they already are.

Graphic Design

We create flyers, signs, publications, and other materials for City departments so the City’s message looks clear and consistent.

Website & Video

We manage gastonianc.gov, keep its content accurate and accessible, and produce videos that explain City programs and services.

Advertising

We plan and place advertising that promotes City programs, events, and services.

Internal Communications

We keep City employees informed and connected with news, updates, and resources from across the organization.
