The City of Gastonia is celebrating one year of GoGastonia, its on-demand microtransit service that launched on July 1, 2024. The service has quickly become a reliable transportation option for residents across the city, connecting people to work, appointments, shopping, and more.
GoGastonia by the Numbers (Year One):

- 13,705 rider accounts created
- 94% of rides rated 5 stars (average rating: 4.9 out of 5)
- Average pickup time: 23.1 minutes
“We are incredibly proud of what GoGastonia has accomplished in just one year,” said Randi Gates, Director of Transportation for the City of Gastonia. “This service is transforming lives, helping people get to jobs, medical appointments, school, and shopping with ease. It’s a lifeline and a symbol of the City’s commitment to accessible, innovative mobility.”
Rider feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many calling the service essential to their daily lives:

GoGastonia operates Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. It can be booked through the GoGastonia app, available in the app stores for Apple and Google, or by phone at 704-753-7439.
