Concrete Manufacturer to Bring $102 Million Investment, 125 Jobs to Gastonia

The City of Gastonia is pleased to announce that Fit Precast, an industrial concrete manufacturer, will make a $102 million investment that will bring 125 new jobs to the area. The company plans to construct a 154,000-square-foot concrete pipe manufacturing facility along Highway 321 South in Gaston County. The property is near the NC/SC line and is planned for proposed annexation into the City of Gastonia.

Construction is projected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026. The new facility will produce large-scale concrete infrastructure products and represent a significant addition to Gastonia’s expanding industrial base. New jobs created by Fit Precast will offer an average annual wage of $102,168, well above the county’s average wage of approximately $52,180. These new jobs could create a potential annual payroll impact of more than $12.7 million for the local economy.

“This project is another example of Gastonia’s continued momentum in attracting advanced manufacturing and high-quality jobs,” said Mayor Richard Franks. “We’re proud to see companies continue to recognize Gastonia as a place where business and opportunity thrive.”

“Fit Precast reflects the kind of sustainable growth and investment outlined in the City’s strategic plan,” said City Manager Michael Peoples. “We’re excited about the opportunities this development will create for our residents and for the continued economic vitality of our community.”

City and County officials worked closely with 321 Property Investment, LLC to facilitate the project, which highlights Gastonia’s strong infrastructure, skilled workforce, and business-friendly environment.

Gastonia has seen a recent increase in economic development thanks to its skilled and experienced workforce and diverse industrial base, which includes companies in the plastics, automotive, metalworking, and food sectors. Its strategic location along I-85 and Highway 321 and proximity to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, as well as its close collaboration with the Gaston County Economic Development Commission, have also been key drivers of success.
