Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays will affect office hours and services provided by the City of Gastonia. City administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24 through Friday, December 26 for the Christmas Day holiday. City offices will also be closed on Thursday, January 1 for the New Year’s Day holiday.
Solid Waste
- Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25): no curbside garbage, leaves or yard waste will be collected
- Thursday routes: garbage only will be collected on Friday, December 26. No leaves or yard waste collected.
- Friday and Monday Routes: will be picked up on Monday, December 29.
- New Year’s Day (Thursday, January 1, 2026): no curbside garbage, leaves or yard waste collected.
- Friday, January 2, 2026: Thursday and Friday garbage will be collected. No leaves or yard waste collected.
- Monday, January 5, 2026: Normal service schedule resumes.
Transit
- No Gastonia Transit ADA/Paratransit on December 24, 25, 26, or January 1, 2026.
- GoGastonia Microtransit will operate Wednesday, December 24, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
- No GoGastonia Microtransit on Thursday, December 25 or Thursday, January 1, 2026.
Parks and Recreation
- Community Centers will be closed Wednesday & Thursday, December 24 & 25, and Thursday, January 1, 2026.
- The Skeet & Trap Range will be closed Wednesday & Thursday, December 24 & 25, and Thursday, January 1, 2026.
- City parks will be open during regular hours.
Schiele Museum:
- Closed Wednesday & Thursday, December 24 & 25.
- Regular hours on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
