Due to inclement weather and potentially hazardous road conditions, GOGastonia Microtransit will not operate on Saturday, January 31. City staff will be closely monitoring road and weather conditions throughout the weekend and determine if the service will operate on Monday.
The Schiele Museum of Natural History will be closed on Saturday, January 31. At this time, a decision has not been made concerning Sunday’s operations.
The Warming Center, operated by HealthNet Gaston and hosted at Unity Baptist Church, 482 N. Myrtle School Road, in Gastonia, will open at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 30, and remain open through 10 a.m. on Monday, February 2. Those interested in supporting the Center may:

With snowfall totals of up to 8 inches and extremely cold temperatures expected, City officials are urging residents to stay home and avoid travel, if possible, as road conditions will become hazardous.
