Note: Projects with open permits, Projects with open permits requiring completion of NC Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission Inspection/Zoning Compliance Form will not need to apply separately for us to complete. Please send Compliance Form below as a submittal under that permit for processing and request the Fire and Zoning Inspection with a comment if inspection is only for completion of this form.

Submittal Requirements (will be needed before starting application on-line)

- NC Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission Inspection/Zoning Compliance Form
- (Section A must be completed by applicant before submitting with on-line application)
When applying for permit on portal:
- Select ‘Zoning-Construction/Development’ from drop down for Application Type.
- Section “Please categorize the nature of the work being done” select NEW.
- Under Description of Work Step 1 – Please add the Name of Business the ALE Permit is for.
- Work Items Step 3 – Select ALE
- Upload Files Step 7 – Please upload NC Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission Inspection/Zoning Compliance Form with the top of the form completed with your business information.
- Once the permit application is reviewed and the permit is issued inspections will load that you can request all for the same day. To access your inspections, sign into your portal, click on My Items from the top, then click on My Permit Applications in the middle of the page to expand that section, find your permit and click on Schedule Inspection.
- City of Gastonia will only perform the Zoning and Fire Inspection. You will also need to apply with Gaston County for an ALE Permit for them to perform the Building Inspection and complete that section on your form.
When Scheduling Inspections:
- We will only perform the Zoning and Fire Inspections.
- Fire Marshal’s Office has to conduct on-site inspections and any violations that are noted have to be corrected before the ALE form can be signed by the fire official
- Must schedule all inspections for same day through your portal. Requesting inspections through your portal will assure that the proper inspectors are notified of your request.
