GPD's Family Day is an annual celebration for GPD employees and their families during Police Memorial week in May. In recent years Family Day has been held at Rankin Lake Park, and features food like BBQ, grilled chicken, and the GPD Sergeant's Association dishes out cake and Tony's ice cream. Family fun entertainment includes paddle boating, kayaking, fishing, Cornhole games and music. A special thanks to the Gastonia Police Foundation for Family Day sponsorship.
