Gastonia, N.C. - January 20, 2022 - Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department (GPD) have arrested and charged Camren Rashard Ford, age 22, of Gastonia, for the attempted murder of a family member after Ford stabbed the 67-year-old female victim in her home yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 4:53 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, GPD officers responded to a home in the 1000 block of Holland Avenue for the report of a stabbing that had just occurred.
Responding officers located the victim inside her residence suffering from multiple stab wounds. Fire and Rescue personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The victim told officers at the scene that Ford entered her home, stabbed her, and fled.
GPD officers in the area located Ford walking in the area of N. Myrtle Street and Ware Avenue. Ford was arrested without incident. A weapon believed to have been used during the stabbing was located when Ford was arrested.
Ford was transported to the Gaston County Jail where he is being held without bond.
