Suspect Apprehended at 2100 Auten Road in Gastonia
Gastonia, NC - August 16, 2023 - At about 12:15 PM, Gastonia police officers attempted to serve warrants on a suspect located at 2100 Auten Road in Gastonia due to a home invasion. The suspect, Steven Blair Drumm (bd: 2/8/1982), barricaded himself in the home and was not responsive to police commands.
The Gastonia Regional Response Teams, SWAT, Crisis Negotiators, Drone, and Mobile Command Unit deployed to the scene. After six hours of negotiations, a tactical element was deployed, and the suspect surrendered at about 7:00 PM. Steven Blair Drumm has been charged with first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny after a break-in, and possession of a firearm. No one was injured during the situation.
