UPDATE: Gastonia Police Officer Arrested and Charged by Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department 

Gastonia, NC (Sept. 28, 2023) - This evening Thursday, September 28, Gastonia Police Officer Xana Dajanae Dove, age 26. Ms. Dove was arrested and charged with two counts of Obstruction of Justice, Conspiracy to Obtain Property by False Pretenses, and Filing a False Police Report.

Ms. Dove, who has been working at the Gastonia Police Department (GPD) for 17 months was arrested at the Gastonia Police Department.

Any further inquiries related to the details of the arrest should be directed to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

 

UPDATE: Effective Friday, September 29, 2023, Ms. Dove was placed on unpaid administrative suspension while an internal investigation is completed.

Statement from Chief Trent Conard regarding Officer Dove’s arrest:

“This is certainly an unfortunate event.  We are going to respect the process of the court system as well as the internal investigation that will be taking place.”
