Victim/Witness Services
As a crime victim or witness you need to know your rights, and that there are state and local resources available to you. You might need to seek shelter, counseling, medical care, legal advice or a Protective Order. You may wish to sign up to receive notices about the status of the defendant during the pretrial process. Please read a copy of the Victim & Witness Assistance brochure which is also available in Spanish.

North Carolina Victims Compensation Services
Victims Compensation Services reimburse citizens who suffer medical expenses and lost wages as a result of being an innocent victim of a crime committed in North Carolina. Victims of rape, assault, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, and drunk driving, as well as the families of homicide victims are eligible to apply for financial help. For any questions call 1-800-826-6200 or 919-733-7974.

FBI’s Child ID App
What if your child suddenly disappeared? The FBI's Child ID app can be downloaded for free, and provides a convenient place to store photos and vital information about your children. You can also quickly email the information to authorities with a few clicks.
Victim Notification Request
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), is committed to protecting the public and ensuring that the rights of victims are carefully observed. HSI administers a Victim Notification Program which allows eligible victims and witnesses to obtain reliable and timely information regarding a criminal alien's release from custody.
