Thanksgiving Holiday Closings Nov 27 and 28

City of Gastonia Thanksgiving Day Holiday Schedule and Affected Services

City of Gastonia administrative offices will be closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

 

City services and venues that will be affected by the Thanksgiving Day holiday:

Solid Waste

  • No curbside collection of garbage, leaves, or yard waste on Thanksgiving Day.
  • Thursday customers will have garbage collected on Friday, November 28.
  • Friday customers will have garbage collected on Monday, December 1.
  • Monday garbage collection will take place as scheduled.
  • No excess household trash, yard waste carts, loose yard waste, or leaves will be collected on Friday, November 28, and Monday, December 1.

Transit

  • City ADA services will not run on Thanksgiving Day, November 27 – November 28.
  • GoGastonia microtransit service will not run on Thursday, November 27.
  • GoGastonia microtransit services will run 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday, November 28.
  • GoGastonia microtransit services will return to normal hours beginning Saturday, November 29.

The Schiele Museum of Natural History

  • Closed Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27.
  • Open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday, November 28
  • Open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 29
  • Open 1 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 30.

Parks and Recreation

  • Community Centers will be closed November 27 – 30.
  • Skeet & Trap will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 28.
  • City parks will be open during regular hours.
