Gastonia, N.C. - February 15, 2022: Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department (GPD) have obtained arrest warrants for 30-year-old Shaun Jermain Burris, Jr. (aka “Bookie”), who has a last known address in the 1850 block of Lowell Bethesda Road in Gastonia, charging him for the February 8 shooting of a 40-year-old man on W. Harrison Avenue. Investigators have determined that Burris, Jr. and the victim were known to each other and detectives are asking the public for any information about Burris, Jr.’s whereabouts.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on February 8, GPD responded to the 500 block of W. Harrison Avenue for a shooting that just occurred. Responding officers located the victim in front of a residence on W. Harrison Avenue suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
During the investigation, detectives determined that the shooting occurred outside on W. Harrison Avenue and that Burris Jr. was the suspect who shot the victim.
Anyone with information about Burris, Jr.’s whereabouts is asked to immediately call 9-1-1.
