Gastonia, N.C. - June 3, 2022: Officers from the Gastonia Police Department – Traffic Enforcement Bureau are investigating a serious hit and run collision involving a pedestrian that occurred late yesterday evening. Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision or who has any information about the striking vehicle to contact investigators at 704-842-5166.
On Thursday, June 2 at approximately 11:00 p.m., GPD officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to E. Hudson Boulevard and S. York Road for the report of a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a dark-colored sedan was traveling west on E. Hudson Boulevard when it struck an adult female pedestrian who was southbound on S. York Road attempting to cross E. Hudson Boulevard. After striking the pedestrian, the sedan fled the scene. The sedan should have front-end damage as a result of this collision.
The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
