Gastonia, N.C. - January 4, 2023: Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department have charged Christopher Marcus Walker, age 30, of Gastonia with eight counts of 2nd-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
In April of 2022, detectives received a cyber-tip that a suspect in Gastonia was in possession of illegal images featuring underage persons.
During the investigation, detectives identified Walker as the suspect. A search warrant was conducted on Walker’s home and investigators located evidence that corroborated the initial tip.
In late November, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Walker charging him with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
On December 30, Walker was arrested for the open warrants and taken to the Gaston County Jail.
Walker was released after posting a $75,000 bond.
