Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Gastonia

Gastonia, NC. -  The Gastonia Police Department Traffic Division is investigating a fatal crash in the 3600 block of South New Hope Rd.

At 11:45 am on 1/28/2024, the driver of a Ford F-250, a male in his mid-40s, struck and killed a 65-year-old male pedestrian. South New Hope was shut down during the initial investigation for two and a half hours.  As of 2:45 pm today, the roadway is back open.   The crash remains under investigation.  Anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has information, is asked to call Officer Koeppel of the Gastonia Police Department at 704-866-6702.
