Shooting: 500 Block of Southside Avenue in Gastonia
On Thursday, Septemer 28, 2023 at 11:50 p.m., officers from the Gastonia Police Department responded to the 500 block of Southside Avenue in reference to a shooting call. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Damien Rahmel Simmons, with a gunshot wound lying in front of the apartment building. Paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries and is currently in stable condition.
