City of Gastonia Launches New Electric Scooter Pilot Program 
The City of Gastonia has officially launched a new electric scooter pilot program in partnership with Peel Scooters.
Approved by the Gastonia City Council in November 2024, the program will run for one year, with the option to renew.
This new initiative builds on the City’s previous pilot with Bird Rides, Inc. (2021–2023) and supports Gastonia’s ongoing commitment to safe, sustainable, and multi-modal transportation options.
Where You Can Ride
Peel Scooters are available along Franklin Boulevard, from West Garrison Boulevard to South Broad Street, covering:

FUSE District
-
CaroMont Health Park
-
Downtown Gastonia
Up to 25 scooters will be stationed throughout the downtown area for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Ride Details

Cost: $1.00 to unlock + $0.40 per minute

Reminder: Scooters cannot be used on sidewalks, trails, or public areas such as Eastridge Mall, according to City ordinance.
